Beginner Lesson 5 of 11

human in the loop

A point where an agent must stop and get a person's approval before it acts.

Human in the loop means a person reviews or approves certain steps before they happen. The agent prepares the action and waits. The person can approve, change or reject it. It is used for steps that are costly, hard to undo or legally sensitive. It trades some speed for safety and accountability.

Think of it as

Like a junior who drafts every contract, but the partner signs before it goes out.

Example

A finance agent matches invoices to payments on its own. When it wants to pay a new supplier, it stops and sends the payment to the finance head, who approves it with one click.
