agent memory
How an agent keeps track of what happened earlier in a task or in past tasks.
A model forgets everything between requests. Agent memory is extra storage that the agent writes to and reads from. Short-term memory holds the steps of the current task. Long-term memory keeps useful facts across tasks, such as a customer's preferences. What is stored, and for how long, is a design and privacy choice.
Think of it as
Like a notebook a temp worker carries between shifts. Without it, every morning starts from zero.
Example
A support agent remembers that a customer asked about a refund last week. When the customer writes again, it opens with the refund's status instead of asking them to explain everything again.
