large language model
A very large AI model trained on huge amounts of text to understand and write language.
A large language model, or LLM, is trained on a vast amount of written text, such as books, websites and code. From this it learns how language works well enough to answer questions, summarise, translate and write. "Large" refers to its size: billions of internal numbers. Chat assistants are built on large language models.

Like someone who has read a whole library. They are not looking anything up, but they have absorbed enough to write fluently on almost any topic.
