DTLS

encryption for fast connections such as voice, video and VPN traffic

DTLS protects connections where speed matters more than perfect delivery, such as calls, video and some VPN traffic. It is a variant of the encryption that protects websites, adapted for data sent in quick, separate packets. A device that accepts DTLS has to process data from anyone who connects, which makes flaws in that code reachable from outside.
