code of practice

a voluntary rulebook firms sign to show they meet a law

A code of practice sets out concrete measures that companies can follow to meet legal duties. Under the EU AI Act, a code assessed as adequate gives signatories a recognised way to show compliance. Signing is voluntary. Companies that do not sign must prove their own measures are adequate.
